Role Title:  Trade Marketing Manager

Reports To:  General Manager & Sales Director North Africa

Accountabilities

1.   Develops trade channel strategy and plans in alignment with the regional strategy to maximize channel growth and profitability.

2.   Manages and monitors the trade marketing spent to ensure alignment with the approved budget.

3.   Designs monthly trade promotions in alignment with marketing colleagues and develop monthly post promotion evaluation report to assess promotion effectiveness.

4.   Designs and tailors trade activities at relevant outlet type to win at the point of buying (POB)

5.   Develops planogram concepts and design through coordinating with the marketing team and merchandising operation to ensure winning at the point of buying

6.   Monitors channel trend and channel dynamics through analyzing and interpreting available sales data and retail audits to identify opportunities and suggest actions

7.   Communicates monthly trade promotions, sales plans and phasing by channel to, retail audit data,etc to Channel Managers, Sales operations Manager and sales personnel to ensure achievement of channel objectives.

8.      Acts as the focal point of getting the channel pulse from the field, competitor information (activities, margins, prices, new launches….etc) and communicates to the sales management and suggesting recommended actions.

9.      Participates in setting price structure and trade margin through providing input from the channel to ensure competitiveness of trade margins within the channel.

10.  Participates in the brands phasing and monthly plans through providing inputs on channel performance

11.  Specifies specifications, deadline and quantities of promotional items and coordinates with the Marketing Buyer to ensure efficient delivery of these items.

12.  Manage the  trade and channel communication through developing and implementing efficient communication initiatives to ensure customer focus

13.  Ensures cascading POB regional strategy in alignment with POB specialist through utilizing the merchandizing team.

14.  Ensures merchandising guidelines are aligned with regional merchandizing strategy.

15.  Set POB strategy in Maghreb in line with North Africa Hub and ensure it execution through trade marketing team according to CS standards.

16.  Set POB plans per channel/category and market along with KPi’s for tracking.

17.  Build shopper understanding through activating shopper behavior research to support POB strategies and solutions to be used.

18.  Lead formal training initiatives – regional and local - to establish a strong working knowledge among the POB Leaders as well as the ‘developers’ of POB Plans.

19.  Lead/co-lead local tests to confirm hypotheses for growth opportunities.

20.  Build channel level fact bases.

21.  Develop case studies to ensure learning is transferred throughout the Cadbury organization.

Pre-requisites

 

In order to succeed in this role, it is expected that you will have:

·            University Graduate

·            Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of trade marketing and field orientation in FMCG.

·            Very good command of French, Arabic and English (spoken and written).
